Received an email from the Seaton Tramway telling me that they are running Bird Watching Trips along the Axe valley. The first trip will be on 23rd February and the tram will have 2 experts in bird watching and conservation on board who will share their knowledge as the tram travels through the two beautiful Nature Reserves, the Axe Wetlands and Coly Common. There will be 12 trips taking place this year, the last one on 19th October . Each trip will last for 2 hours

You can also walk along specially made walkways to several bird hides that overlook the Axe wetlands and there is also one hide that is made out as an “education centre” where frequently there is a wildlife expect on duty to share information with visitors. The Axe Wetlands are only about 10 minutes walk away from Flintstones Cottage, just across the other side of Colyford Road.
