The weather was fine and calm on Tuesday, even some sunshine! Drove the few miles to Charmouth on the famous Jurassic Coast as there was a good chance that lots of fossils would have been washed out of the cliffs after the winter storms.

Yes, after walking along the beach for a few hundred metres and scraping amongst some of the shingle and small pieces of stone, if you looked carefully, there were quite a lot of small ammonites, well worth collecting! Only a few people on the beach today, walking their dogs, not like in January when dozens came to the beach after a fossil of a 200 million year old Ichthyosaur was found said to be worth £15,000 !

Drove back into Lyme Regis and looked at the view of the famous Cobb Harbour, then found a new coffee shop/tearoom had recently opened in the High Street, so went inside for a cream tea. Honestly the scones were the best that I have ever tasted…and they were freshly baked and still warm from the oven!
